After several years of experience building their annual event, Wooden Roots are coming to DanceEast to share a weekend of West African movement and music! Over three days, world class artists from across the globe will converge at DanceEast to lead workshops in traditional West African Dance (with live drumming), dance from the wider diaspora including Samba, Jazz and Afrobeats, as well as instrumental workshops on the Djembe, Dunun and more. Hosted by Wooden Roots, you can be sure to receive some expertly delivered, authentic and immersive content.
Flexible tickets allow participants to jump between any class they like over the full weekend and experience a bit of everything. The drum and dance symposium is a unique opportunity to have your questions answered about the unspoken relationship between the two genres. Who leads who? How do you know when to change the dance move or tempo?
This is truly a one of a kind event in Suffolk that is not to be missed. See last year’s highlights from Snape Maltings below.
