Mummy Movers invites parents with babies in slings to rediscover their groove through the sheer joy of dance! Our mission is to provide a warm and relaxing space for you to connect with your baby while letting loose on the dance floor. We believe in the transformative power of dance – it’s not just about moving your body; it’s about uplifting spirits and fostering a sense of community among parents. At Mummy Movers, we create an environment where you can dance your heart out, bond with your little one, and build meaningful connections with other mums.
Babies from 8 weeks and onwards are warmly invited to join in the fun. Mummies, please ensure you’ve had your 6-8 week check-up with your GP before participating in the class. The class is designed for babies to be worn in slings or baby carriers and the class tutor, Keisha Cardy, is trained and qualified in advising on safe and correct use of slings and carriers, should you require any support before or during the class.
*Any parent or guardian who carries their baby in a sling is welcome to participate in the class.
Term dates: Monday 23 September – Monday 2 December 2024
Half Term: There will be no classes on Monday 28 October 2024

MEET THE TUTOR
“Hi everyone, I’m Keisha! I trained professionally in dance and musical theatre at the Urdang Academy in London. I then went on to perform as a character and parade performer at Disneyland Paris. When I moved back to Suffolk, I began teaching lots of different styles of dance to all different ages and found so much joy in teaching. I became a mum to my daughter Margot last year and although I adore being a mum, I really missed the feeling I got from moving my body to some feel good music, which is when Mummy Movers was created!
Each session is designed to be relaxed, inclusive and most of all UPLIFTING, with a varied playlist of corny pop, musical theatre and 90s R&B (I take requests!).
I am also professionally trained in safe babywearing so that I have the knowledge to advice and support mums with their carriers, ensuring that both mum and baby are comfortable for the session. I’m really excited to bring this class to DanceEast and hope lots of mums will come along for a boogie! And why not enjoy a well-deserved cuppa, cake and natter in the café afterwards with lots of new mum friends. I can’t wait to meet everyone!”
