Ashtanga is a set sequence of postures that is energetic and synchronises breath with movements, led by Katherine Lawrence (Ashtanga Yoga Ipswich).
The focus is on synchronising breath and movement – which becomes a moving meditation as you become more familiar with the sequence. There will then be time at the end for a blissful relaxation.
From this class you can expect to:
- Gain strength, flexibility, and a greater bodily awareness
- Focus inward, away from everyday distractions
- Work hard and increase muscle tone
Some prior yoga experience and level of fitness is required. There are no rest periods throughout the class, but if you’re prepared to sweat and work hard then this is for you!
Participants should bring their own mat, a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothing.
Looking to relax and unwind? We also offer a wellbeing focussed Hatha yoga class.
